Inspired by a trip back home to Cuba in the winter of 2025, I learned more about the music genre called Son, which accompanies our national dance, Danzón. The song played in the video, “Son de la Loma” by Trio Matamoros, was introduced to me by a live band. The song reminded me of the many beautiful cars and taxis that roam the streets of Cuba day and night, from the classic Coco Taxis to the colourful vintage cars to the older, beat-up Volkswagen Beetles. This project showcases the vibrant culture Cubans have to offer through the concept of a go-kart game.
